Mike and Becky Curtis have been
married for 30 years and have three sons, Chris, Carson and William (“Casey”).
Mike and
Becky currently reside in Desert Hills, Arizona, a rural, unincorporated
community north of Metropolitan Phoenix. We bought our 45-acre farm in Montrose
in 2002 to provide a better environment for Mike's 84-year-old father and to
provide us with a place to visit and eventually live that is closer to Becky's
family in Norwood. Becky and Mike are active in Desert View Bible Church
(Becky more than Mike).

Mike is the descendant of farmers who settled in the Arizona Territory. He graduated from Arizona State University in 1977, summa cum laude, with a degree in Accountancy. He spent one year at Arizona State University College of Law but quit law school so that Becky, whom he met at Lake Powell the summer after graduating from ASU, could finish her education, and also because the study of law was horrible. Mike started his professional career in 1978 at Arthur Andersen and Coopers & Lybrand. Mike has been an Arizona C.P.A. since 1980 and still has some of the clients for whom he started doing work at Arthur Andersen in 1978. He currently works for Whitman Financial, P.C., a diversified financial services provider with offices in Anthem and Scottsdale. Mike's current areas of practice include farm and ranch taxation, real estate and construction consulting and taxation, and litigation support. Mike's hobbies and interests include guns, exploring old mines, welding, machining, heavy equipment, camping, fishing, mountain biking, dirt biking, horses, and trying to help those who are unfortunate enough to find themselves in the path of unscrupulous businesses or other entities.
Becky was born in the Montrose Hospital in 1957, and was raised in Norwood. Her parents, Howard and Betty Greager, still reside in Norwood. Becky's grandfather, "Dewey" Greager, arrived in Montrose at the tender age of 12, after having to leave New Hampshire because of severe asthma. He lived with "Preacher Hampton" and attended school through the eighth grade at the Oak Grove School in Montrose and later homesteaded on Beaver Mesa. Becky's father was born in Placerville and her mother in Mancos. Becky's grandmother, Essie (Beach) Greager, was the daughter of Elias S. Beach, who settled in Delta in 1881. He made his living by freighting supplies for the town of Delta and anyone else who needed items that had to be hauled in by team and wagon. He hauled in the pipe for the first water system that the town of Delta put in place. Becky's second cousin, Charlie Beach, owned and operated a gas station on Main Street in Montrose for many years. Becky graduated from Arizona State University, magna cum laude, in 1981, with a degree in Interior Architectural Design. Despite her education and a successful design career in Commercial Interior Architecture, Becky has worked from home for the past 14 years as a medical transcriptionist. Becky's hobbies and interests include music (guitar, piano, singing and song writing), horses, mountain biking, writing and Bible Study. Becky has also helped her father, Cowboy Author and Historian, Howard Greager, with his book writing projects for the past 19 years. Becky is also currently researching and writing about the Abortion/Breast Cancer link.
