Thoughts from the prophet, Isaiah

The LORD arises to contend, and stands to judge the people.

The LORD enters into judgment with the elders

and princes of His people,

"It is you who have devoured the vineyard;

The plunder of the poor is in your houses.

“What do you mean by crushing My people and grinding the face of the poor ?"

Declares the Lord GOD of hosts.

Woe to those who enact evil statutes

and to those who constantly record unjust decisions,

so as to deprive the needy of justice

and rob the poor of My people of their rights,

so that widows may be their spoil and that they may plunder the orphans.

Isaiah 10:1-2 NASV

Learn to do good;

Seek justice, reprove the ruthless,

defend the orphan, plead for the widow.
